Hyejin Choi was unable to capitalize on her chance for a comeback.
On May 10 (local time), at the Mountain Ridge Country Club (par 72, 6,735 yards) in West Caldwell, New Jersey, United States, Hyejin Choi carded three birdies and two bogeys in the fourth round of the Mizuho Americas Open, a U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour event with a total prize fund of 3.25 million dollars. Finishing at 1-under-par 71, she tied for third place at 8-under-par 280, alongside Korean-American Jenny Bae, Alison Lee (USA), and Gaby Lopez (Mexico). This is her best result of the year and marks her third top-10 finish.
Hyejin Choi is a player who has collected nine career wins (excluding amateur victories) on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, including one major title. She joined the LPGA Tour in 2022 but has yet to secure a victory. Her personal best results are runner-up finishes at last year's Maybank Championship and Meijer LPGA Classic, as well as the 2022 CP Women's Open.

After losing another stroke on the 9th hole (par 4), she effectively dropped out of contention for the win. She made a birdie on the 11th hole (par 4) to go under par, but then recorded pars on all of the remaining seven holes. She missed the fairway three times and the green twice. However, she recorded 33 putts for the round.
World No. 2 Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) captured four birdies (with just one bogey) to secure a dominant victory by four shots, finishing at 13-under-par 275. This marks her second win of the season and eighth career victory, coming three months after her previous win at the Honda LPGA Thailand in February. The winner's prize is 487,500 dollars (approximately 700 million won).
Lin Ruoning (China) finished second at 9-under-par 279, while Ji Eun Shin tied for seventh at 6-under-par 282. Erika Hara (Japan) and Celine Boutier (France) shared ninth place at 5-under-par 283. Hannah Green (Australia) and Hae Ran Ryu tied for 14th at 3-under-par 285, Lydia Ko (New Zealand) tied for 18th at 2-under-par 286, and Yoon Ina concluded the tournament tied for 20th at 1-under-par 287.
