Independent Activities in Advertising and Solo Projects After Founding OA Entertainment

Expanding Agency Scale While Continuing Group Activities with YG

It has been revealed that singer Jennie, a member of BLACKPINK, received approximately KRW 23.8 billion in settlement payments over the past two years through OA Entertainment, the agency she established.

According to an audit report published on May 9 on the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system, OA Entertainment paid Jennie about KRW 9.48 billion last year. Adding the 2024 payment of approximately KRW 14.3 billion brings the total to around KRW 23.8 billion.

However, this amount was classified as 'cost of sales,' so specific details—such as the breakdown of appearance fees, advertising income, or music revenue share—were not disclosed.

Jennie debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016 and established OA Entertainment after ending her exclusive contract with YG Entertainment in 2023. While group activities with BLACKPINK continue under YG, her individual activities—including endorsements, solo albums, and personal performances—are managed independently.

The company name 'OA (ODD ATELIER)' means 'a unique workspace,' and Jennie owns 100% of its shares. The company is represented by Jennie's mother, Park Nana.

Since its launch, OA Entertainment has shown stable growth. In its first year, the company posted sales of KRW 18.9 billion and an operating profit of KRW 580 million, recording a surplus. Last year, sales increased by 26% year-on-year to KRW 23.8 billion. However, due to higher selling and administrative expenses, such as increased commission fees and salaries, operating profit slightly decreased to KRW 390 million.

The audit report also included details that Jennie provided funding to secure company operating capital in the form of shareholder loans. As of the end of last year, the outstanding balance of shareholder loans stood at approximately KRW 2.86 billion, more than eight times higher than the previous year.

Recently, there has been a trend in the K-pop industry of top-tier artists establishing independent labels or one-person agencies. Notable examples include Psy's P Nation and Kim Jaejoong's INCOOD Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Jennie released her first full-length solo album, "Ruby," last year. This year, she was named one of TIME's "100 Most Influential People in the World," and recently drew attention by attending the 2026 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States.
