On May 7, Yes24 announced that it will hold an outdoor reading program on May 29 in the Ansan area of Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, bringing together local authors, publishers, bookstores, and readers.

"Sanchaek" is a campaign-style project that offers an experience of walking, conversing, and reading books in nature, moving beyond traditional indoor book clubs. The project is designed to connect people, local communities, and the publishing ecosystem.

The Seoul edition follows a three-hour course, starting from the hanok bookstore "Drawing the Time of Seoul" near Yeongcheon Market in Seodaemun-gu, heading up to the peak of Ansan, and returning to the bookstore. Participants will interact with each other through books while walking through natural spaces in the city.

During the hike, participants will take part in a "book exchange program" where they introduce and swap books they have brought. There will also be a time to exchange handwritten letters explaining their book recommendations, allowing everyone to share their tastes and impressions.

This event will feature Lee Youngmi, author of "Witch's Stamina" and former publishing editor; Jang Se-i, CEO of the Korean publishing house Ieung; Park Hyunyeo, CEO of the bookstore "Drawing the Time of Seoul"; and Son Minkyu, Humanities PD at Yes24.

Applications to participate are open until May 27 through Yes24 Class24. The participation fee is 5,000 won, and only the first 30 applicants will be accepted.

Son Minkyu, Humanities PD at Yes24, stated, "Building on the positive response from the Busan and Daegu editions, we have now expanded the stage to the Seoul metropolitan area. We plan to continue broadening the reading experience in a variety of settings—mountains, the sea, alleys, and more—across both urban and regional areas."
