Yangcheon-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Kijae) will open Omok Park as a free public wedding venue for soon-to-be newlyweds facing the era of 'weddingflation.' The district will additionally recruit eight couples to participate in the "2026 Omok Park Garden Wedding" from March 25 to April 7.

Only one couple will be accommodated per day, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere, and the venue rental fee is entirely free. Couples can design and conduct their own personalized ceremonies.
Applications can be submitted on the Garden Wedding page of the Yangcheon-gu Integrated Reservation Portal. As of the announcement date (March 17), eligibility is granted to engaged couples or their parents who are registered residents of Yangcheon-gu. Eight couples will be selected through a computerized lottery, and 16 additional couples will be chosen as standby participants.
In addition, the district continues to offer various forms of support related to marriage and childrearing, such as operating the 'Re:Photo Booth' in the district office's General Civil Affairs Room, providing customized public rental housing for engaged and newlywed couples without homes, and offering the "All Care Book," a comprehensive guide covering everything from preparing for pregnancy to childcare.
Lee Kijae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "I hope that engaged couples dreaming of a special ceremony will take their most beautiful first step in life at Omok Park."
