Paju City’s ‘Winter Family Water Playground’ a Hit... Second Event to Open at Geumchon on February 15

The 'Family Water Playground,' operated by Paju City in Gyeonggi Province to promote healthy leisure activities and enhance communication among families, received an enthusiastic response at Unjeong Multipurpose Gymnasium on January 25.

Approximately 200 children and parents visited the event, enjoying water play in a warm indoor environment and making the most of their weekend leisure time.

The 'Family Water Playground' at Unjeong Multipurpose Gymnasium was designed as an experiential leisure space where families can have fun together even during the cold winter. Building on the positive feedback from last year's event, the city plans to operate its second Family Water Playground of 2026 at the Geumchon Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium inside Paju Stadium on February 15. This second event will also provide a warm and safe space for families to enjoy water activities together during the chilly season.

The 'Family Water Playground' accommodates up to 150 people per session and operates in two sessions from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Session 1: 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Session 2: 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.). Citizens can conveniently use the facility by making a reservation in advance through Naver Place or by paying on-site on the day of the event. Admission fees are 7,000 won for adults, 5,000 won for teenagers, and 4,000 won for children. Residents from outside the city are subject to a 50% surcharge.

Lee Changwoo, Head of the Sports Department, stated, "The Family Water Playground is a healing program for the whole family that can warm both body and mind even in the cold winter. We will continue to operate various family-friendly programs at sports facilities to promote the health and happiness of our citizens."
