LG Channels Unveils New Logo and Accelerates Global Growth

Equipped with Region-Specific Customized Services

LG Electronics is accelerating its growth by revamping 'LG Channels,' the FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) service on its proprietary smart TV platform, webOS.

On November 25, LG Electronics announced that, starting at the end of this month, it will introduce a new logo and customer-friendly, enhanced features with a more advanced user experience (UX) for LG Channels in 33 countries worldwide. The newly unveiled logo, released for the first time in ten years, features an overlapping design of the letters C and H from LG Channels, symbolizing the joyful moments when various types of content and viewers connect, represented by intersecting shapes. The color palette conveys energy and vibrancy, and the intuitive design transcends nationality and language, reflecting the company's intent to communicate with global customers.

A wide range of upgrades will also be implemented across the service. With customer-friendly features that allow users to easily and quickly access their desired content, LG Channels will provide a personalized viewing experience based on individual viewing patterns and lifestyles.

First, the personalized content recommendation feature will be enhanced to make it easier for users to explore their preferences. The home screen will use an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm to recommend content tailored to each customer's viewing history and tastes. Even when a program ends, related content will be suggested to ensure a seamless viewing flow.

Additional features will be introduced to reduce the fatigue of browsing through multiple channels and to provide easier access to preferred channels. By simply pressing the 'OK' button on the remote control, users can conveniently check information about the current channel, as well as the entire TV channel guide, while continuing to watch their selected content.

Furthermore, LG Electronics will add region-specific features that take into account cultural, linguistic, and viewing habits. In the United States, an upcoming feature will preview new content lists and add reservation and notification functions, ensuring that passionate sports fans never miss the start of a game. In Europe, where a variety of languages are spoken, a multi-audio function will allow users to select their preferred language for content playback. In Arabic-speaking regions, a newly designed app interface will cater to viewers who read from right to left.

Since its launch in Korea in 2015, LG Channels, built into LG webOS, has expanded over the past ten years to North America, Europe, and Central and South America, now offering around 4,000 channels in 33 countries worldwide. As a webOS-based service supporting the language of each country, it can be used easily without separate language settings. The enhanced Magic Remote enables intuitive content navigation through its advanced smart features.

Cho Byungha, Executive Vice President and Head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG Electronics, stated, "With our new logo and customer-friendly services that capture the unique enjoyment of LG Channels, we will revolutionize the viewing experience and strengthen our market leadership."
