On August 6, Ansan City announced that it had recently granted final approval for the completion of the Palgok General Industrial Complex development project, located at San 29-1, Palgok 2-dong. This approval comes five years after construction began in 2019.

The Palgok General Industrial Complex covers a total area of 141,050 square meters. The project was carried out as a public development by Ansan Urban Corporation, with an investment of 69.1 billion won.

The complex consists of 64,593 square meters of industrial facility land, 3,008 square meters of support facility land, and 73,448 square meters of public facility land. Currently, 39 companies from industries such as chemical manufacturing and metal processing have moved in.

During the development process, the project faced setbacks due to delays in relocating graves within the site and related lawsuits, which caused procedural delays. To address these issues, the city adopted a phased completion approach by dividing the facility land into separate construction sections.

The complex is considered to have excellent transportation accessibility, being adjacent to the Seohaean Expressway Maesong IC and Suin Industrial Road.

Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "The completion of this project will serve as an important turning point for strengthening the city's industrial base and revitalizing the local economy." He added, "We will do our utmost to provide practical support to tenant companies, such as expanding infrastructure, and to create a sustainable industrial ecosystem."
