Temporary School Closures Near Constitutional Court Starting Today... 13 Schools Shorten Hours or Close on Impeachment Verdict Day

On the 2nd, six schools near the Constitutional Court will temporarily close. This measure comes as protests intensify two days before the impeachment ruling of President Yoon Seok-yeol, raising concerns about the safety of nearby school routes.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, the schools temporarily closed on this day are Jaedong Elementary School, Jaedong Elementary School Attached Kindergarten, Unhyeon Elementary School, Unhyeon Kindergarten, Gyodong Elementary School, and Gyeongun School. Deokseong Girls' Middle and High School will have shortened classes until 1 p.m.
On the 3rd, eight schools including Deokseong Girls' Middle and High School will temporarily close, while three schools including Jungang Middle and High School and Daedong Tax High School will have shortened classes.
On the 4th, the day of the Constitutional Court's ruling on President Yoon's impeachment, all 11 schools near the court will be closed.
Hannam Elementary School and Hannam Elementary School Attached Kindergarten near the presidential residence will also temporarily close. Students from these schools can receive emergency care at Itaewon Elementary School and Seobinggo Kindergarten.
Deoksu Elementary School and Deoksu Elementary School Attached Kindergarten near Gwanghwamun will hold normal classes. Although there are expected to be no major issues regarding commuting safety, the Metropolitan Office of Education will deploy safety support teams in pairs to assist students during their commute in preparation for any unexpected situations.
The Metropolitan Office of Education will operate an 'Integrated Safety Task Force' from this day until the 5th to ensure commuting safety. The task force will help students avoid contact with protesters as much as possible and will promptly respond by requesting police support in case of emergencies such as accidents.
