The public sewage treatment facility modernization private investment project (BTO-a) aims to improve treatment efficiency and address environmental issues caused by the aging of existing facilities. The project seeks to enhance sewage treatment capacity and introduce eco-friendly treatment processes to create a pleasant water quality environment.

Following the approval, the city plans to establish an efficient and eco-friendly sewage treatment system by ▲introducing advanced treatment facilities and ▲applying energy-saving technologies. In particular, the project will promote the underground and consolidated installation of sewage treatment and fecal pre-treatment facilities to improve urban aesthetics and significantly enhance the living environment for local residents.

The upper space will be developed into various themed areas, including walking paths, garden-type green spaces, rest areas, and fitness facilities, allowing citizens to enjoy a comfortable and enriched environment in their daily lives.

Construction will begin in the second half of this year and proceed in phases, with completion targeted for 2030. Upon completion, the project is expected to improve sewage treatment efficiency, leading to better water quality in local streams and a reduction in odors.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “Passing this review is an important first step toward creating a sustainable urban environment,” adding, “We will achieve tangible environmental improvements that citizens can feel through systematic project implementation.”
