Hwaseong City Holds Offering Ceremony for Asian Games Ice Skating Team

Prize Money of 100 Million Won Awarded
to Medal-Winning Athletes

On the 25th, Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province held a commendation ceremony for the city-affiliated skating team athletes who won medals at the '2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games' in the main lobby and central conference room of the city hall.

At this competition, the affiliated skating team athletes won 3 gold medals and 2 bronze medals. Short track skater Jang Seong-woo won gold medals in the mixed relay 2000m and men's 1000m events, and bronze medals in the 1500m and 500m events. Kim Min-ji won a gold medal in the women's team sprint in speed skating. Kim Tae-seong and Noh Do-hee also earned gold medals in the short track mixed relay 2000m.

The event was attended by key figures including Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, Hwaseong City Sports Council Chairman Park Jong-seon, Hwaseong City Skating Association Chairman Park Seung-bae, and city council members. The city awarded a total prize money of 100 million won to the medal-winning athletes.

Mayor Jeong said, "This achievement is the result of the sweat and effort shown by the Hwaseong City Hall skating team athletes," adding, "Hwaseong City will continue to spare no support for the development of all sports infrastructure, including winter sports."
