Honam University announced on the 21st that Professor Kim Mirye of the Department of Counseling Psychology has been elected as the 14th president of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Counseling Association.
The term will last for two years until next year, during which she will lead the Gwangju-Jeonnam Counseling Association and promote the development of the organization.
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Counseling Association, which consists of 3,153 members, is a regional branch under the Korean Counseling Association. It is a professional academic organization comprised of counseling experts from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.
Kim Mirye, the newly appointed president, stated, "The Gwangju-Jeonnam Counseling Association holds various events such as academic conferences, training sessions, and case presentations to maintain and enhance counseling professionalism in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions. I will do my best to further promote academic exchange among members and to elevate the status of professional counselors who can effectively respond to the changing demands of society."
