BTS Jimin Releases Solo 2nd Album 'MUSE'…Pidog: "Always a Charming Artist Who Works Hard"

Group BTS member Jimin is releasing his second solo album, ‘MUSE.’ This is his first new release in about 1 year and 4 months since his first solo album ‘FACE’ in March 2023.

On the 19th, his agency Big Hit Music announced that Jimin would unveil his second solo album ‘MUSE’ at 1 PM that day. While ‘FACE’ was an album depicting the process of confronting the complete ‘self,’ the agency explained that ‘MUSE’ is a sincere work expressing the journey of seeking inspiration surrounding the ‘self.’

The theme of this album is ‘love.’ It contains seven tracks including the title song ‘Who,’ ‘Rebirth (Intro),’ ‘Interlude : Showtime,’ ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco),’ ‘Slow Dance (feat. Sofia Carson),’ ‘Be Mine,’ and ‘Closer Than This.’ Through this new release, Jimin conveys a story of making various attempts and sometimes wandering in search of love.

Musicians who collaborated on ‘FACE,’ such as Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, and EVAN, as well as Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and producer Jon Bellion, gathered their talents for Jimin’s ‘MUSE.’

Main producer Pdogg said, “We focused on reflecting the emotions Jimin felt during the process directly into the music. We worked in Los Angeles, and perhaps thanks to the vibe of the city, songs with happy and positive energy came out.”

Pdogg described ‘MUSE’ as “inspired by conceptual albums like The Beatles’ ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.’ We wanted to infuse the excitement felt when thinking of a muse into the tracks.” He added, “The flow of emotions is also reflected in the track order, so it will be even more enjoyable if you focus on that while listening.”

The album’s first track, ‘Rebirth (Intro),’ uses choir and orchestra to create a connection with the previous album ‘FACE’ while giving the impression of moving on to the next chapter. The following track, ‘Interlude : Showtime,’ signals the start of a new story, and the journey to find the muse continues through to ‘Be Mine.’ The title track ‘Who’ is the song that best expresses the album’s message and feelings about love.

Regarding the production of the title track ‘Who,’ Pdogg shared, “We made it in New York with Jon Bellion. I remember Jimin explaining directly to Jon Bellion what story he wanted to tell, and he was quite shy about it,” sharing a cute episode. He continued, “By chance, we met Jimmy Fallon in the studio next door. After finishing the work, Jimin was the first to play the song for him.”

Finally, Pdogg praised Jimin, with whom he has worked for a long time, as “an artist whose charming quality is his constant effort.” He laughed and said, “After finishing the ‘FACE’ album, he immediately started working on ‘MUSE.’ I thought, ‘Is he really working this hard before enlisting?’” but added, “Thanks to Jimin’s efforts, you can see his music journey has grown even more.”

Jimin will appear on the popular American NBC program ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ airing at 12:35 PM (KST) on the 23rd, where he will perform the title track ‘Who’ from his second solo album ‘MUSE’ for the first time.
