View original imageOn the 19th, Pyeongtaek City held a groundbreaking ceremony for Mosan Park and announced that the park development project has been officially launched. About 200 people attended the ceremony, including Jeong Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, Yoo Seung-young, Chairman of the City Council, and Yoo Ui-dong, Member of the National Assembly.
Mosan Park is a core green belt in the urban area, designated as an urban park in 1989, covering 278,241㎡. The city initially pursued private park special projects to develop the park, but the project stalled. Accordingly, the city decided to switch to a fiscal project from 2018 and, starting the following year, went through administrative procedures such as feasibility studies and implementation plan approvals. Recently, most of the land compensation has been completed, and the groundbreaking took place on this day. The city plans to complete the park development project by 2026.
Previously, to address the lack of leisure spaces and expand parks, Pyeongtaek City has been promoting the development of 15 long-unexecuted urban parks covering about 1.38 million㎡, including Mosan, Eunsil, and Buraksan Parks, since 2017.

Approximately 22,000㎡ of waterside resting area will be created within the park. Additionally, there will be a forest experience space utilizing a preserved circular forest and existing orchards, the Ewhwa Garden shaped like pear blossoms, a 20,000㎡ five-color themed garden where seasonal flowers can be enjoyed, and community spaces. Facilities such as a pet-friendly resting area, water playground, forest playground, and multipurpose exercise space will also be provided.
Mayor Jeong said, "We will develop Mosan Park into a distinctive park so that it can become a representative park of Pyeongtaek City."
