Yangcheon-gu, Operation of Remote Snow Removal Spraying Device and Installation of Road Heating Cables for Snow Removal

Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) declared the second phase of the snow removal task force on the 9th, when snowfall occurred, and mobilized personnel from the neighborhood community centers and the district headquarters to carry out extensive snow removal operations on major arterial roads and side streets to prevent safety accidents and minimize inconvenience to residents.

In particular, last December, a new road heating cable system with a total length of 788 meters was installed in five snow removal vulnerable sections, including Mokdong Jungangbuk-ro 8-gil. Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, visited the road heating site to carefully inspect and check it. This year, five more locations will be added, expanding the total length to 2.2 km.

The district is expanding the outsourcing of snow removal work on side streets closely related to residents' daily lives and has additionally secured and is operating 19 more spreaders to respond quickly from the early stages of snowfall.

Also, this year, 100 remote liquid spreaders are in operation, enabling rapid snow removal in steep slope areas of side streets.

Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “Through the newly introduced road heating cable system and other measures, we have enhanced the initial snow removal response capability with swift snow removal operations. We will continue to create a safe Yangcheon-gu free from disasters by taking prompt and proactive measures to prevent safety accidents and traffic inconveniences caused by sudden winter snowfall and cold waves.”
