CU announced on the 26th that it will hold the “National Courage Recharge Event” featuring various benefits themed around dragons throughout January 2024, the Year of the Blue Dragon (Gapjin Year).
With the meaning of encouraging the “courage” of the people going through difficult times due to the economic downturn, CU has prepared a variety of giveaways and discount events targeting cup noodles, along with unique and exciting events.
CU will hold a buy-one-get-one-free event for a total of over 40 types of cup noodles. In line with the event concept, the number of promotional products has been increased by 20% compared to the previous month. The 2+1 promotion includes steady sellers and recently released new products such as Nongshim Shrimp Soup, Shin Ramyun The Red, Ramen King Kim Tongkkae, Ottogi Jin Ramen, Paldo King Ttukgop, Tteumsae Ramen, and Odeng Sikdang Budae Jjigae Ramen.
Samyang’s two types of Couteque (Truffle, Toowoomba Pasta) and Harim Gourmet Artisan Ramen two types (Mild, Spicy) are offered with a 1+1 promotion, and when purchasing three types of Samyang Maep-tang, a small cup of Buldak Bokkeum Myun is given as a gift. Additionally, targeting stockpiling consumption, a bundle of small cups of Shrimp Soup and Squid Jjamppong (6-pack) is sold at 4,600 KRW, discounted by 2,300 KRW from the regular price of 6,900 KRW.
Along with this, a total of nine types including Odeng Sikdang Budae Jjigae Ramen, Mayeol Ramen, Szechuan White Jjamppong, Anchovy Kalguksu, and Tteumsae Ramen can be purchased at a 30% discounted price when paying with Naver Pay or Kakao Pay, combined with the 2+1 promotion. For example, when purchasing two Odeng Sikdang Budae Jjigae Ramens, with the payment discount applied, each can be bought for about 930 KRW.
On CU’s commerce app, Pocket CU, a “Courage Recharge Stamp Event” is also being held. This event allows customers to enter a prize draw by collecting stamps automatically generated when CU membership points are accumulated upon purchasing any cup noodles currently sold at CU. Customers can enter up to 10 times. Prizes include Nintendo Switch OLED (2 winners), a set of 4 colorful stainless steel containers (10 winners), Stanley tumblers (10 winners), ramen bowl sets (10 winners), and coupons for 5 types of cup noodles (88 winners). The announcement date is February 7.
In addition, CU is running various payment discount promotions to welcome the New Year. Seven types of RMR products recently launched in collaboration with Huchune and Odeng Sikdang are offered at a 30% discount when paid with Naver Pay or Kakao Pay, and 13 types of the Deuktem series are discounted by 20% when paid with BC Card or Kookmin Card.
Furthermore, popular wines and 20 types of whiskey including Eum! Pinotage Wine are offered at a 20% discount with Naver Pay, protein snacks (4 types) and protein drinks (11 types) are discounted by 30% with NH Nonghyup Card, and all convenience foods such as lunch boxes are discounted by 20% with Toss Pay, expanding customer benefits across various product categories.
