As part of building a corporate culture that respects the values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Pfizer Korea launched an in-house project team called the KOR D&I team in 2019. The KOR D&I team operates various DEI-related programs and designates the last Friday of every month as ‘Focus Friday,’ a day to reflect on equity, planning various volunteer activities that employees can voluntarily participate in.
This social contribution activity was also led by the KOR D&I team to promote the value of equity. Last month, 63 Pfizer Korea employees and their families participated in briquette carrying volunteer work together with the Bapsang Community Welfare Foundation Briquette Bank. A total of 13,660 briquettes, prepared through corporate donations and employees’ own contributions, were directly delivered to neighbors in Jeongneung-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
On the 14th, an in-house flea market and digital donation auction were held to raise funds for Beautiful Store. The event was conducted with items donated by employees. The funds raised and donated goods from the event will be delivered to Beautiful Store.
Odongwook, CEO of Pfizer Korea, said, “Pfizer Korea continues to pay attention to blind spots in local communities and carries out various activities to contribute to creating a healthier and more sustainable society. To realize Pfizer’s corporate goal of ‘Breakthroughs that change patients’ lives,’ we will continue our efforts not only to develop and provide medicines but also to promote social values such as equity, which will serve as the foundation for innovation.”
