Changwon Special City, Masan Yangdeok-dong 'Jungang Park Home Run Garden' Opening in December

Expecting Various Play Spaces Linked with Changwon NC Park Masan Stadium

Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 29th that the Home Run Garden project, being developed in the area of Jungang Park, Yangdeok-dong, Masanhwoin-gu, will open this December, approximately three years after construction began.

The Home Run Garden is a project aimed at creating a park linked with Changwon NC Park Masan Stadium to provide a unique resting space for citizens and baseball spectators. With a total project cost of 2.06 billion KRW, the park includes facilities such as a kids' baseball field, a children's playground, green spaces, and a scenic pavilion.

In particular, based on the home base where the kids' baseball field and children's playground are located, resting areas representing first, second, and third bases were created by utilizing existing hiking trails, arranging the entire park to resemble the shape of a baseball field.

Additionally, to address safety concerns caused by overlapping pathways with the adjacent traditional Korean archery range (Gukgungjang), barriers and detour entrances were installed to ensure the safety of visitors.

Lee Seung-ryong, Director of the Green City Project Office, stated, “The Jungang Park Home Run Garden was developed with the goal of creating a distinctive park themed around baseball. We will do our best to complete it so that both citizens and baseball spectators can rest and enjoy their time.”
