Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Testing Certification Institute (hereinafter KTC), a leading domestic testing and certification organization, regarding the establishment and operation of the KTC Changwon Testing and Certification Center.

View original imageThe KTC Changwon Testing and Certification Center, to be established by 2025 in the expanded area of the Changwon National Industrial Complex, will be built to provide specialized testing and certification covering hydrogen storage and transportation, defense industry, eco-friendly vehicle testing, and aviation testing?key future strategic industries of Changwon City including hydrogen, defense, and aerospace certification.
KTC has declared its ambition to become a global testing and certification institution in digital transformation (semiconductors, software, smart appliances, intelligent robots), green transition (electric vehicles, batteries, renewables, hydrogen, carbon reduction), and future growth and nationally important industries (bio-health, materials/components/equipment, defense, aviation). Based in Changwon City, Korea’s premier hub for hydrogen, defense, and aviation industries, KTC plans to support the enhancement of industrial competitiveness and technological development in related sectors.
Changwon Special City is accelerating the creation of an advanced industrial cluster centered on R&D and testing and certification institutions, alongside the promotion of Changwon National Industrial Complex 2.0, designation of opportunity development zones and hydrogen-specialized complexes, as part of Mayor Hong Nam-pyo’s 8th-term election pledges to industrialize cutting-edge future industries. The establishment of the KTC Changwon Testing and Certification Center is expected to play a key role in fostering Changwon’s advanced industries.
