According to the report, a note was found on the body of a Hamas operative who was killed after the surprise attack on Israel on the 7th. Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen revealed this at a United Nations Security Council meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York on the 24th.
Intelligence agency Shin Bet and the IDF recovered the recording file from the cellphone of an Israeli victim used by a Hamas operative on the 7th. The file contained about a three-minute conversation between the man and his father.
The man joyfully told his father, "Look at how many I killed with my own hands, this son killed Jews," adding, "I killed her and her husband. I killed 10 people with my own hands." The father did not withhold praise for his son. A woman presumed to be the mother also said, "Oh, may God bless my son."
Meanwhile, the IDF stated that over 1,400 people have died and about 200 are held hostage in the Gaza Strip following Hamas's surprise attack. The Palestinian side also reported that at least 6,546 people, including 2,704 children, have died in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli retaliatory airstrikes. This number is more than four times the number of Ukrainian children killed (535) as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
