Renault Korea Motors recently released a facelifted model of the compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) XM3, adding the Inspire trim. The model that sells the most is the XM3 1.6GTe, which uses a 1.6ℓ inline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, and this trim adds several consumer-preferred features.

The XM3 1.6 GTe Inspire comes standard with Easy Connect navigation supporting real-time T map navigation and in-car payment, Multi-Sense, ambient lighting, black leather power seats, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. The price is 26.8 million KRW.

This model is competitively priced even when compared to the top trims of major compact SUVs with their main engines, such as the Kia Seltos 1.6 GDI Signature and the Chevrolet Trax Crossover 1.2 Gasoline RS. Looking at the basic options of these three models, there are differences even among their highest trims. Compared to the Seltos, the XM3 has advantages such as real-time T map navigation, a 10.25-inch TFT cluster, blind-spot warning system, 6-way power passenger seat, and a Bose sound system with 9 speakers.

The Seltos shows a slight advantage over the XM3 in driving assistance systems. Meanwhile, the Trax Crossover has more limited convenience and driving assistance systems compared to both the XM3 and the Seltos.

The XM3 has a body length of 4,570 mm, which is longer than the Seltos (4,390 mm) and the Trax Crossover (4,540 mm). Due to its longer body length, the XM3’s trunk capacity reaches 513 liters. The wheelbase, which affects rear legroom, is the longest among the competitors at 2,720 mm.

Fuel efficiency for the XM3 with 17-inch tires is 13.6 km per liter. The Seltos does not offer 17-inch tires; its 16-inch tire model at a lower trim has a fuel efficiency of 12.8 km per liter. The Trax Crossover achieves 12.7 km per liter.
