In women's fencing, Yoon Ji-soo won the gold medal in the sabre individual event. Yoon Ji-soo attracted attention as the daughter of pitcher Yoon Hak-gil, who led the golden era of professional baseball team Lotte.
Seoul City Hall's youngest athlete (19 years old) and promising female sport climber Seo Chae-hyun won the silver medal after the finals were canceled due to severe weather conditions. The women's handball team (Song Ji-young, Jo Soo-yeon, Jung Jin-hee, Yoon Ye-jin), aiming for their third consecutive Asian Games title, earned a silver medal after a nail-biting match, while the women's soccer team (Park Eun-sun, Ryu Ji-soo), which recorded three consecutive wins in the group tournament, was defeated in the quarterfinals. Female taekwondo athlete Lee Da-bin, who shed tears after failing to achieve her goal of winning gold for the third consecutive Asian Games, won silver medals in both individual and team taekwondo events, expressing her strong determination for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Breaking team members Kim Heon-woo and Jeon Ji-ye, who were founded at Seoul City Hall in September, participated in breaking, which was introduced as an official event for the first time at the Asian Games. Although they did not win any medals, their potential for future development was evident.
Meanwhile, although not part of the Seoul City Hall workplace sports team, the esports field, which Seoul City supports generously, achieved remarkable success with 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal.
Mayor Oh encouraged, "In every difficult and tiring moment, please remember the support of the citizens of Seoul who are moved by your efforts," adding, "Seoul City will continue to support various sports fields, including less popular sports. We cheer for everyone's unstoppable challenge toward the 2024 Paris Olympics."
