Everland was designated as an ex-situ conservation institution by the Ministry of Environment in 2003. It supports the Korea Bear Conservation Fund. Next to Tiger Valley, Everland installed a tiger conservation education center, introducing conservation research methods through video materials, tiger footprints, and excrement.

World Animal Day was established in 1931 at an ecologists' conference held in Florence, Italy. Its purpose is to strengthen the bond between humans and animals and to protect animals facing extinction.
