Seocho-gu supports systematic entrepreneurship education for university students dreaming of starting a business amid employment difficulties.

Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) operates ‘Seocho Startup Echo’ to help university students succeed in entrepreneurship. It is recruiting 30 university students from the local area until the 9th.

‘Seocho Startup Echo’ means that the youth entrepreneurship atmosphere spreads like an echo, providing practical training and mentoring to those who want to start a business.

The education program is organized into 10 teams and consists of a 10-week course starting with an orientation on the 11th, covering ▲item planning ▲BM review ▲marketing strategy ▲business plan writing, all necessary for startup preparation. In particular, it will focus on entrepreneurship trend strategies suitable for the MZ generation. Additionally, on the 31st of this month and the 8th of next month, special lectures by startup CEOs who are former young entrepreneurs will be held to share entrepreneurship know-how.

Based on the business plans prepared by each team, a startup item pitching contest will be held on December 3rd. Before the contest, a total of four professional mentoring sessions will be provided. On that day, three outstanding startup teams will be selected and given a certain amount of startup activity funds.

The education will take place at the Seoul Startup Cafe Seocho Gyodae Branch, located inside the Seoul National University of Education Station on Line 3.

The district expects that the ‘Seocho Startup Echo’ project will eliminate vague fears about entrepreneurship among university students and provide an opportunity to cultivate a business mindset through practical education.

The recruitment target is university students residing in Seocho-gu or enrolled in universities located in Seocho-gu, and applications can be submitted via the QR code on the poster. The final selected teams will be announced on the 10th.

In addition, the district is recruiting the second cohort of ‘Seocho Alley Supporters,’ prospective entrepreneurs who will take responsibility for local commercial districts, until the 9th. Anyone hoping to start a business in the area can apply. Selected trainees can take 10 courses necessary for startup preparation over about four weeks, including ▲business model development ▲startup procedures ▲commercial district analysis ▲marketing ▲legal and funding matters. Also, one-on-one mentoring with field-specific mentors is provided only to those who wish.

Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “I hope this education will be a stepping stone for prospective university student entrepreneurs with creative ideas and passion to achieve successful startups.”
