Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gijae) announced on the 7th that the nationwide 'Y Education Expo 2023' has officially opened for the first time among local governments at Yangcheon Park, Haenuri Town, and Yangcheon Culture Center area.
This expo, which will present the direction of future education in South Korea from career and academic guidance to future technologies and lifelong learning trends, includes the 'Y Education Forum,' the 'Career Rock Talk Concert' exploring the dreams and future directions of youth, a 'Career and Academic Guidance Expo' offering customized admission counseling, and a 'Lifelong Learning Festival.'
On the morning of the first day, the 7th, at Yangcheon Park, the site of the Future Education Expo, an opening tape-cutting ceremony was held with Titan Robot. In the afternoon, the 'Y Education Expo Opening Ceremony and Y Education Forum' took place at the main theater of Yangcheon Culture Center. Many distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony, including Kim Euisung, Seoul City Deputy Mayor for Administration, Cho Heeyeon, Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent, Jung Moonheon, Jongno District Mayor, Jeon Seongsu, Seocho District Mayor, and Kim Yuyeol, President of EBS, celebrating together. The opening ceremony, which began with a spectacular VR drawing art performance, proceeded with an opening address, welcome speech, and congratulatory remarks, and concluded with a 'Digital Ceremony' proclaiming the vigorous start of the Y Education Expo.
Following this, the 'Y Education Forum' held in collaboration with EBS brought together five domestic and international scholars to discuss and continue the discourse on the key issues of future education.
Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “As we face a major turning point in education, I hope this nationwide Y Education Expo, proactively hosted by the education-specialized district Yangcheon-gu, will establish itself as a new starting point presenting the direction and vision for the future of education in South Korea.”
