On the 18th at 5 PM, children gathered in small groups at Taeyang Square in Bongjesan Neighborhood Park, Hwagok-dong, where the ‘Oguogu Children’s Busking’ was held. Even 30 minutes before the performance started, the area in front of the stage was already filled with children.

The children waiting for the show all wore excited expressions, thrilled at the thought of watching a performance in their usual neighborhood park where they often played.

Thus, the ‘Oguogu Children’s Busking’ began.

The first act was a magic show. Various magic tricks tailored to the children’s eye level were enough to spark their imagination and curiosity. The children also had the chance to come up on stage and participate in the magic tricks.

Next, a dynamic juggling performance captivated the children’s attention. During the final act, the bubble show, not only the children but also the adults cheered and enjoyed together.

As a variety of performances using soap bubbles unfolded, the children joyfully jumped up from their seats, and the adults were delighted to see their reactions. With diverse performances every 30 minutes, there was no time to get bored.

A parent expressed satisfaction, saying, “It’s great to have a performance for children in the park right in front of our house, allowing us to spend a relaxing time even if just for a moment.”

The district planned the ‘Oguogu Children’s Busking’ to create a cultural space near home where not only 5-year-old children and 9-year-old elementary students but the whole family can enjoy together without having to go far.

The children’s busking will be held every Friday at 5:30 PM until September 15 at five local parks including Kkumdori Children’s Park and Daun Children’s Park.

To give children precious memories, the district organized participatory performances such as ▲magic ▲bubble shows ▲juggling. Around the performance venues, various experiential booths like ▲balloon art ▲caricatures ▲face painting are also operated.

A district official said, “We have prepared various performances tailored to children’s eye level and events that the whole family can experience together, so we hope many people will come and enjoy them.”
