According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 26th, about 100 people, including volunteer firefighters and staff from the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, visited the flood-affected area of Hoeryongpo in Yecheon-gun, Gyeongbuk, that morning.

They engaged in volunteer activities such as dismantling flooded greenhouse structures and restoring farmland, and also delivered donations to the affected residents to support swift recovery efforts.

Exchanges for mutual cooperation and coexistence between the Yeong and Honam regions have continued during times of natural disasters and other hardships.

In fact, in August 2020, about 400 people from Gyeollanam-do visited Gurye-gun, Jeonnam, which suffered heavy rain damage, to carry out relief activities with love.

Last year, about 80 volunteer firefighters from Jeonnam volunteered in the Pohang area of Gyeongbuk, which was damaged by Typhoon Hinamno.

Jeong Jeong-du, president of the association, said, “Although it is a small gesture, we hope it helps the recovery so that the affected residents can return to their daily lives quickly. On behalf of 2 million residents, I am grateful to the volunteer firefighters who stepped forward with a united heart as if it were their own matter.”

Hong Young-geun, head of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, stated, “There are no regional boundaries in overcoming disasters. I hope the affected residents overcome this difficult time as soon as possible, and that the mutual solidarity and cooperation between Yeong and Honam continue.”
