In the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics women's curling, Japanese player Fujisawa Satsuki, who was noted as a rival to South Korea's national team 'Team Kim' and 'An-gyeong sunbae' Kim Eun-jung, has shared surprising recent news.

According to local Japanese media such as Nikkan Sports on the 24th, Fujisawa participated in the fitness competition called the Body Makeup Competition MOLA CUP held on the 22nd in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Fujisawa impressed the venue with a dramatically changed, muscular physique. An interviewer who saw Fujisawa on stage even asked, "Are you really that Fujisawa (the curling player)?"

Despite it being her first appearance, Fujisawa achieved the remarkable feat of placing 3rd in the Bikini Class and 2nd in the Open Class, standing on the podium.

In an interview after the competition, Fujisawa said, "I enjoyed watching bodybuilding videos on YouTube and always wanted to participate in a competition someday," adding, "I've liked professional training for a long time." She also mentioned that in the curling world, she feels like a pioneer as this was her first competition.

When asked about her challenge to return as a bodybuilder, she said, "Since I am an active curling player, I don't know when I can participate in another competition, but if I have the chance, I would like to do it again."

This appearance spread widely through various online communities and social networking services (SNS), with netizens showing diverse reactions.

Netizens responded with comments such as "Is this really the Fujisawa Satsuki I knew?", "Is it really possible to see the Fujisawa Satsuki from Pyeongchang again?", and "She must have worked out really hard."

Meanwhile, Satsuki is scheduled to participate in the Winter Olympics to be held in Milan Cortina d'Ampezzo in 2026.
