Seongbuk-gu Operates ‘Gansong Collection Academy’ with the Theme of ‘Hyewon Shin Yunbok’

From August 2 to August 30, every Wednesday, a total of 5 sessions featuring top experts from various fields delivering vivid on-site lectures

A time to learn about the historical significance and value of various works by Hyewon Shin Yunbok

Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro), in collaboration with the Gansong Art and Cultural Foundation (Chairman Jeon Young-woo), is operating the ‘Gansong Collection Academy’ with the theme of ‘Hyewon Shin Yunbok.’

Selected as a 2023 vivid cultural heritage project by the Cultural Heritage Administration, the ‘Gansong Collection Academy ? Hyewon Shin Yunbok’ will be held every Wednesday from August 2 to August 30 at the Gansong Art Museum (102-11 Seongbuk-ro, Seongbuk-gu) over a total of 5 sessions.

Top experts from each field will deliver vivid on-site lectures.

The program for each session is composed of ▲‘Gansong, Protecting the Nation through Culture’ ▲‘Social Changes and Genre Paintings in the Late Joseon Period’ ▲‘The Life and Artistic World of Hyewon Shin Yunbok’ ▲‘The Value and Meaning of Shin Yunbok’s Genre Painting Album_Christopher Nolan of Joseon, Hyewon Shin Yunbok’ ▲‘The Meeting of Traditional Art and Cutting-edge Technology_Danijeon: The Story of a Beauty.’

This Gansong Collection Academy is expected to provide an opportunity for not only Seongbuk-gu residents but also many people who cherish and love our cultural heritage to deeply understand Gansong Jeon Hyeong-pil and the various works of Hyewon Shin Yunbok that he collected.
