The Gunsan Outdoor Swimming Pool located in Soryong-dong, Gunsan-si, Jeonbuk, will open on the 7th of next month.
Gunsan City announced on the 23rd that, with the arrival of the intense heat, the outdoor swimming pool will be operated daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., except Mondays, until August 20th, allowing citizens to enjoy water activities within the city.
The Gunsan Outdoor Swimming Pool covers a spacious and pleasant area of approximately 11,617㎡ and features pools for different age groups, including an adult pool, a children’s pool, and a toddler pool. Additionally, it is equipped with two water slides, a comprehensive playground, a fountain, and auxiliary facilities such as a cafeteria.
Gunsan City will operate an outdoor swimming pool every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., except Mondays, from July 7 to August 20, allowing citizens to enjoy water play in the city as the hot weather arrives. The photo shows the view of Gunsan Outdoor Swimming Pool.

To prepare for the opening, the city repaired the rest decks and shower facilities for visitors, cleaned the pools, applied elastic flooring to the bottom, and conducted safety inspections of the water play facilities as well as water quality tests.
For visitor safety, admission is limited to 2,800 people per day and operated in two shifts. The first shift is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the second shift is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The entrance fees are 5,000 won for adults, 4,000 won for teenagers, 3,000 won for children, and 2,000 won for toddlers. Seniors and other eligible groups receive a 50% discount on admission fees.
Meanwhile, the Gunsan Cultural Center Water Playground located in Naun-dong will open on the 21st of next month, and the facility can be used free of charge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A city official stated, "We will do our best to inspect the facilities thoroughly and provide safe and comfortable services."
