Samsung Electronics Unveils 'The Wall' Dedicated to Virtual Production Studio at InfoComm

2023 Smart Signage Lineup and Introduction of 130-inch LED All-in-One Product

Samsung Electronics will showcase a large number of new digital signage products at 'Infocomm 2023,' North America's largest display exhibition, held in Orlando, USA, from the 14th to the 16th (local time). Based on Samsung Electronics' technology, which has held the No. 1 position in the commercial display market for 14 consecutive years, the company will unveil 'The Wall for Virtual Production,' dedicated to virtual production studios, a smart signage lineup, and a 130-inch LED all-in-one display.

Samsung Electronics aims to target the virtual video production market, where demand for immersive content is increasing, through The Wall for Virtual Production. This product will be released in P1.68 (with a pixel pitch of 1.68 mm) and P2.1 versions. It can be manufactured to wrap an entire studio in a flat or up to 6000R curvature elliptical shape. In particular, molding technology is applied to allow installation in studio environments with many external factors such as dust. Both hanging installation connected to the ceiling and stacking installation methods are possible.

The Wall for Virtual Production provides frame rates dedicated to studio production. Additionally, it supports ▲a maximum refresh rate of 12,288 Hz ▲maximum brightness of 1500 nits ▲a fixed contrast ratio of 35,000:1 ▲and a maximum viewing angle of 170 degrees. To build an optimized screen operation environment, it also offers 3D lookup tables (LUTs) with color adjustment capabilities and VPM solutions for real-time image quality and screen management.

The upgraded 2023 smart signage product lineup can also be seen at this event. Samsung Electronics will unveil a total of 20 new models, including five QHC series models with 700-nit brightness (75-inch, 65-inch, 55-inch, 50-inch, 43-inch), eight QMC series models with 500-nit brightness (98-inch, 85-inch, 75-inch, 65-inch, 55-inch, 50-inch, 43-inch, 32-inch), and seven QBC series models with 350-nit brightness (98-inch, 85-inch, 75-inch, 65-inch, 55-inch, 50-inch, 43-inch).

The new products feature a flat design with a thickness of 28.5 mm, which is about 40% thinner compared to previous models. They are characterized by a symmetrical design on all four sides with slim bezels applied equally on all edges. They also support ▲4K high-resolution ▲non-glare panels that minimize light reflection ▲an easy and intuitive New Home UI ▲and the Tizen 7.0 operating system (OS) optimized for web service performance. An eco sensor that detects ambient brightness optimizes display brightness in various environments.

Samsung Electronics will also introduce for the first time a new LED screen with an integrated design called the 'LED All-in-One.' The 2023 LED All-in-One (IAC) is a 130-inch Full HD product with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It can be installed immediately by hanging it on a wall using a pre-made frame kit and integrated screen. It also supports ▲a 56 mm slim design ▲a bezel-less video wall suitable for large screens ▲a maximum brightness of 1000 nits ▲a high refresh rate of 3840 Hz ▲and a media player box (S-Box).

Through the 2023 smart signage QMC series, Samsung Electronics has consecutively obtained eco-friendly certifications from prestigious institutions in Germany and the United States. It became the first in the signage industry to receive the 'Carbon Footprint Certification' awarded by the global certification body TUV Rheinland in Germany. It also acquired the 'Energy Star 8.0' certification, awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for energy-efficient products, and the 'EPEAT' certification, the U.S. eco-friendly certification system for electronic products.

Jung Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, said, "The new signage products we are launching this time showcase the future and potential of displays at a glance. We will continue to introduce numerous new products that deliver the best image quality and innovative features to lead the digital signage market and contribute to the growth and development of our corporate customers."
