The European Union (EU) statistical authority Eurostat announced on the 16th (local time) that the Eurozone's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter of this year grew by 0.1% compared to the previous quarter. This meets market expectations but is somewhat slower than the 0.3% growth in the fourth quarter of last year.
Compared to the same period last year, it grew by 1.3%, matching both the forecast and the previous quarter's figure.
