20-Year-Old Arrested for Swinging Weapon at Friend During Argument

A social service worker in his 20s was arrested for injuring a friend by wielding a weapon during an argument.

The Gwangju Dongbu Police Station announced on the 6th that they had arrested and sent A (22) to prosecution on charges of special assault.

The police decided to conduct a detention investigation considering the seriousness of the case.

A is accused of wielding a weapon at B, a friend of the same age, in front of his house in Sotae-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City around 3 a.m. on the 1st, causing injuries to B's hand that required four weeks of medical treatment.

After drinking together, A and B rode in the same car to go home, but an argument over the order of going home escalated into this incident during a phone call.

The police arrested A on the spot as a suspect in the act after a citizen who saw the two fighting reported it, and officers arrived at the scene.
