The 28th Busan International Film Festival will be held for ten days from October 4 to 13 around the Busan Cinema Center. On the 15th, the festival office announced that it will begin full-scale preparations starting with the call for official screening submissions.
The call is open to feature films, documentaries, and animations produced after October of last year. Submissions are accepted in two categories: short films (running time under 60 minutes) and feature films (running time 60 minutes or longer). However, for the Wide Angle-Korean Short Film Competition and Asian Short Film Competition sections, the running time must be 30 minutes or less. Applications can be submitted through the official Busan International Film Festival website. The submission deadline is June 21 for short films and July 19 for feature films.
Since 1996, the Busan International Film Festival has been a festival dedicated to the globalization of Korean cinema and the growth and discovery of Asian films. Every year, it introduces new works to industry professionals and audiences, establishing itself as Asia's largest film festival.
