Park Chan-wook's Decision to Leave Wins 5 Awards Including Director's Cut Best Director

Jeong Seo-kyung Best Screenplay Award - Park Hae-il and Tang Wei Best Actor Awards

The best film recognized by over 300 domestic film directors was Park Chan-wook's Decision to Leave.

Director Park won the Best Director award at the 21st Directors' Cut Awards hosted by the Directors Guild of Korea (DGK, representatives Yoon Je-kyun and Min Kyu-dong) held on the afternoon of the 24th at the Chungmu Art Center Convention Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul. Decision to Leave took home five awards including Best Screenplay and Best Actor.

The Best Director award in the series category went to Yoon Jong-bin for Netflix's Suriname, and the Best New Director award in the film category was given to Ahn Tae-jin for Owl.

In the film category, the Best Actor and Best Actress awards were won by Park Hae-il and Tang Wei, respectively, both for Decision to Leave. In the series category, Jo Woo-jin won Best Actor for Suriname, and Bae Suzy received Best Actress for Coupang Play's Anna.

The Best New Actor award in the film category went to Seo Hyun-woo for Decision to Leave, and the Best New Actress award was given to Yang Mal-bok for Two Women Wearing the Same Underwear.

In the series category, the Best New Actor award was awarded to Kim Min-gwi for Suriname, and the Best New Actress award went to Park Ye-young for Anna.

The Vision Award this year was presented to director Kim Se-in for Two Women Wearing the Same Underwear.

Actors Lee Byung-hun, Jung Sung-hwa, Park Jin-joo, Kim Sung-cheol, Lee Hae-woo, Son Eun-seo, and Park Ji-hoo attended the ceremony to offer their congratulations. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who appeared as an award presenter, shared an update saying, "We are in pre-production for Squid Game Season 2," and added, "Filming will start in July."

The Directors' Cut Awards, which began as the 1st ceremony hosted by the Young Film Directors' Association Directors' Cut in 1998 and evolved into an event hosted by DGK in 2017, marked its 21st edition this year. Over 300 domestic film directors voted to select nominees and winners in 15 categories across film and series, including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best New Director, Vision Award (Independent Film Award), Best Actor and Actress, and Best New Actor and Actress.
