At the meeting, officials from the Goseong Market Merchants' Association and the Gongryong Market Merchants' Association attended, watched a video outlining the vision and goals for the traditional markets, and took time to gather various opinions and listen to difficulties.
In the video, Goseong-gun defined the vision of the traditional market as "a market that leaps into the future beyond tradition and region," announcing plans to promote facility modernization, attract tourists through public project applications, and host cultural performances and food markets.
Additionally, with the selection of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Smart Traditional Market Support Project, the county will receive 1.6 billion KRW in national research and development funds and plans to promote a smart market simultaneously.
Governor Lee said, "The direction the traditional market should take is to preserve its unique culture that contains old charm while adapting to changes in consumer trends. The traditional market, which is the foundation for local small business owners, must thrive for the local economy to be revitalized," adding, "Let us continue to work together to create a traditional market that embraces both tradition and change."
