[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] Jang Yu-bin (20, Korea National Sport University, photo) will participate in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
On the 1st, he won the men's division of the 1st Korea Golf Association President's Cup Amateur Golf Championship held at Jeonbuk Jangsu Golf Resort (par 71, 6,372m) with a score of 16 under par 197. It was a decisive victory, beating second place Lee Woo-hyun (Jeonnam Science University, 9 under par 204) by 7 strokes. Along with the inaugural champion title of the tournament, he earned the qualification to participate in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. For the men's golf team at the Hangzhou Asian Games, where professional players are allowed to participate, two professionals and two amateurs will be selected.
Jang Yu-bin secured one amateur spot, while the other spot will be decided through a selection tournament. Professional players will be selected based on the world rankings as of the 25th. Currently, Im Sung-jae (24) is ranked 26th, Kim Si-woo (27) 54th, Lee Kyung-hoon (31) 79th, and Kim Joo-hyung (20, all from CJ Logistics) is 87th. The women's division of the Korea Golf Association President's Cup Amateur Championship will be held from the 4th at Naejangsan Golf & Resort in Jeongeup, Jeonbuk.
