The Presidential Transition Committee discussed a plan to grant housing subscription points to those who fulfill their military service obligations.
On the 1st, the Transition Committee announced that the Foreign Affairs and Security Subcommittee held a meeting with the Ministry of National Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration to discuss ways to implement President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol's key pledges.
According to the Transition Committee, during the meeting, a plan to grant housing subscription points as a form of social respect for fulfilling military service obligations was discussed.
They also reviewed measures to expand soldiers' mobile phone possession time to create a military life environment that aligns with the demands of future generations and changing times.
In addition, they discussed plans to establish a Korean-style three-axis system to drastically strengthen the response capabilities against North Korean nuclear and missile threats.
The Transition Committee explained, "Based on the contents of the meeting, detailed tasks for improving the military environment will be established through close discussions centered on the Ministry of National Defense in the future."
The meeting was attended by members of the Transition Committee's Foreign Affairs and Security Subcommittee, defense experts and working-level officials, the Ministry of National Defense's Military Human Rights Officer, Facility Planning Officer, Deputy Chief of Strategic Planning of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Head of Future Power Project Support Division of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.
