[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief Park Sang-wook) conducted a focused inspection on the management of information and communication equipment and facilities installed at police substations and patrol vessels in preparation for dense fog.
According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 1st, despite frequent dense fog over the past three weeks, the inspection aimed to prevent safety accidents by checking the information and communication equipment installed at field departments such as patrol vessels, substations, and branch offices, and removing potential causes of malfunction in advance to maintain optimal communication status.
This inspection included ▲checking the operational status of information and communication equipment at substations and patrol vessels ▲inspecting radar, GPS plotters, and electronic chart systems ▲checking the output and sensitivity of LTE communication networks and disaster safety communication network transmitters and receivers ▲and conducting inspections and training on equipment operation methods for operators, covering essential equipment required for mission performance.
A Jeju Maritime Police official stated, “We will ensure thorough operation of information and communication equipment, the central nervous system of the maritime police, by enhancing understanding through explanations of various equipment to operators of communication devices at substations and patrol vessels, and maintain an immediate response posture in case of emergencies.”
