[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The national shooting team selection competition for the Hangzhou Asian Games will be held at the Changwon International Shooting Range in Gyeongnam from the 2nd to the 15th.
Hosted by the Korea Shooting Federation, the selection competition will feature 358 shooters from across the country competing in 10m air rifle, 25m and 50m small-bore rifle, shotgun, and running target events.
To prevent COVID-19 infections, the competition will be held without spectators, and access to the venue will be restricted to athletes, coaches, and event officials only.
Athletes, coaches, and event officials must undergo daily rapid antigen tests and can only enter the venue if the results are negative.
A city official stated, “We will support the athletes to fully demonstrate their honed skills at the Changwon International Shooting Range, which features scientific design minimizing athlete movement and state-of-the-art facilities such as electronic scoring systems for all events.”
Kim Hwayoung, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, said, “We will do our best to ensure that this selection competition serves as a model event in all aspects, including COVID-19 prevention.”
