NHN Cloud Officially Launched: "Leap Forward as a Global Tech Company"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] NHN announced on the 1st that its cloud-specialized corporation, ‘NHN Cloud,’ has officially launched. The goal is to grow into a global tech company through AI-based cloud services.

The new corporation will operate under a co-CEO system with Baek Domin and Kim Donghoon to establish a rapid decision-making system on the business front. The two CEOs have collaborated throughout the entire process from the early stages of NHN’s cloud business, based on their deep understanding and experience in the cloud market.

Co-CEO Baek is responsible for setting company goals, sharing vision, talent selection, and employee communication, while Co-CEO Kim, who also serves as the head of the business division, oversees the overall strategy formulation and execution of the business.

NHN Cloud will enhance its market competitiveness through AI-specialized product lines integrated with AI technology. NHN Cloud, which was spun off by integrating NHN’s cloud and AI businesses, plans to meet customer demands by applying AI technology across all areas of cloud services, including infrastructure, platform, and services. The AI division within the new corporation will be led by Director Park Geunhan, who has been leading NHN’s AI services and research, such as AI FASHION and facial recognition, since 2015.

NHN Cloud is expected to employ about 350 people, including new hires currently undergoing recruitment. It will continue to secure talent through additional open recruitment.

Co-CEO Baek stated, "We will lead the domestic and international cloud markets through active investment attraction, strategic partnership building, and expansion of the global MSP business."
