The provincial Disaster Safety Situation Room will begin special 24-hour duty to support holidaymakers in spending the holiday safely.
They plan to strengthen organic cooperation systems with related organizations such as police stations and fire stations to respond quickly in case of various disasters and accidents.
In addition, they will actively implement disaster situation announcements and guidance on citizen behavior using disaster text broadcasts and village broadcasts. They will organize emergency contact networks of cities and counties and reinforce the workforce more than usual to manage the situation.
Kim Jung-kwon, Director of the Disaster Safety Office of Gyeongbuk Province, said, “We will do our best to ensure that residents can spend the holiday comfortably and safely by operating a 24-hour emergency response system in the Disaster Safety Situation Room during the Seollal holiday period.”
