[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Circumstantial evidence suggests that Kim Geon-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, was involved in the operation of the election campaign. In a phone call with Lee Myung-soo, a reporter from ‘Seoul Voice,’ Kim urged him to join the campaign and requested criticism of Hong Joon-pyo, Yoon’s rival in the party primary.

According to MBC’s ‘Straight’ broadcast on the 16th, during the call, Kim said, "Criticizing Hong Joon-pyo will bring in more super chats (real-time donations)," and added, "Try asking Hong Joon-pyo some sharp questions tomorrow."

She also mentioned, "Criticism of Yoon Seok-yeol doesn’t get much reaction, so try it subtly," and "Let’s try to switch sides."

Kim also proposed Lee’s joining by mentioning financial benefits. She said, "Honestly, I hope you come to our camp (Yoon’s camp)," and "If my husband (Yoon Seok-yeol) becomes president, my younger brother (Lee Myung-soo) will benefit the most."

When asked, "How much can you give?" she replied, "You have to pay Myung-soo according to what he does," and added, "If he does well, I can give 100 million won."

Additionally, she appeared to be aware of the campaign’s poor management and the possible involvement of former People Power Party general election committee chairman Kim Jong-in.
