Kakao, Mobile Daum Redesign Faces Errors on First Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Kakao attempted to revamp mobile Daum on the 13th but failed.

In the early hours of the day, Kakao operated the service in the revamped state but encountered errors and reverted to the previous service.

Kakao announced, "During the mobile Daum revamp process, issues requiring inspection were discovered," and added, "We apologize for not being able to deploy the service stably."

The schedule for resuming the revamped service has not yet been announced.

Previously, Kakao stated that it would no longer provide the article recommendation arrangement, ranking news service, news widget function, and media selection function that were offered in the existing news section. Instead, services where media outlets directly edit and publish articles, and 'Kakao View,' where users curate content themselves, were planned to be introduced.

A Kakao representative said, "We will thoroughly prepare to soon present the newly changed service."
