[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 14th that it is conducting free drinking groundwater quality tests for returnees to farming and rural areas to ensure the safety of drinking water.
The county is promoting free drinking groundwater quality tests to alleviate concerns about water quality safety for returnees to farming and rural areas living in regions without water supply systems who use groundwater.
The free quality test is requested from the Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute, which inspects 46 items based on drinking water quality standards, including microorganisms, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, and turbidity, to determine suitability for drinking.
Applicants eligible for the free drinking groundwater quality test are returnees to farming and rural areas who have lived in urban areas for more than one year and have moved to rural areas within the past five years.
Applications can be submitted to the Future Agriculture Team at the Hwasun-gun Agricultural Technology Center until December.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, “We hope this helps reduce the worries and anxieties of returnees to farming and rural areas regarding drinking groundwater,” and added, “We will do our best to implement various support policies so that returnees can settle stably in Hwasun.”
