[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae addressed allegations regarding her child's special military service exemption, stating, "I hope the prosecution conducts a swift investigation and quickly reaches a conclusion."

On the afternoon of the 14th, during a government question session at the National Assembly, in response to a question from Hwang Un-ha of the Democratic Party of Korea, who said, "Repeated fake news has caused harm. Please make a sincere statement," Minister Choo said, "I hope a clear and definite conclusion is reached quickly so that we can focus on the people's livelihood."

She added, "Until now, I have refrained from commenting as much as possible to avoid influencing the ongoing prosecution investigation," emphasizing, "The government must respond well to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and the public should not be made anxious amid commotion and turmoil."

Regarding prosecution reform, Minister Choo stated, "The reform is not aimed at any specific individual," and added, "I hope people understand that we are on a path toward the future as an organization that realizes social justice with a long-term perspective."
