[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] An employee at a district police station restaurant in Seoul was infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), leading to police officers and others being placed under self-quarantine.


On the 18th, Yongsan Police Station announced that Ms. A, a woman in her 60s who works at the Yongjung District Police Station restaurant, tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, 65 contacts including police officers were instructed to self-quarantine and undergo testing.


It was reported that Ms. A is a member of Sarang Jeil Church in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. The police disinfected the district police station and adjusted shift work schedules.



Previously, after the first confirmed case at Hyehwa Police Station in Seoul on the 15th, a total of five people, including four police officers, tested positive. Additionally, one police officer each at Gwangjin Police Station and Gwanak Police Station also tested positive.
