[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The connecting road from Bundang to Suji at Neungwon Intersection in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province will be closed.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Construction Headquarters announced on the 14th that from 0:00 on the 15th, the connecting road from Local Road No. 57 Bundang direction (entry) to National Road No. 43 Suji direction (exit) at Neungwon Intersection in Mohyeon-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin City will be closed for improvement construction.
The Construction Headquarters has partially opened a new connecting road (length 0.625 km, width 4.5 m) to secure a detour route.
Neungwon Intersection is the end point of the road construction section 2 from Opo, Gwangju City to Pogok, Cheoin-gu, Yongin City, and the improvement construction is underway to upgrade the intersection function from three-way connection to a four-way entry and exit system.
The Construction Headquarters expects that once the Neungwon Intersection improvement construction is completed, the Opo-Pogok section 2 will be completed, significantly alleviating the chronic traffic congestion in the Seongnam-Gwangju-Yongin area.
The Opo-Pogok section 2 road construction is a project in which Gyeonggi Province is investing 210.8 billion KRW to newly build a 6.2 km four-lane road from Chobu-ri to Dongnim-ri in Mohyeon-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin City.
Construction began in November 2011 and the entire section is scheduled to open in October.
