Canon Launches Mirrorless Camera 'EOS M200'... Supports Vertical Video Recording

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Canon has released the mirrorless camera 'EOS M200' featuring a lightweight and slim design.

The EOS M200 is compact enough to fit in one hand and weighs 299g, making it easy to carry. It is the successor to the EOS M100, which is loved by women for its small and attractive design, with improved performance and convenience features.

The EOS M200 is equipped with a 24.1-megapixel APS-C type CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 8 image processor, delivering high-resolution images. With a native ISO sensitivity range of 100-25600, it enables high-sensitivity shooting even in dark environments. It features Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast and smooth live view shooting. It supports eye detection AF that recognizes and automatically focuses on a moving person's eyes and can shoot continuously at up to approximately 6.1 frames per second.

For the first time in the EOS camera lineup, it supports the 'vertical video storage function.' Videos shot with the camera held vertically can be played back on smart devices in the vertical orientation without any additional editing. High-quality videos can be uploaded to SNS optimized for vertical ratios. It supports high-resolution 4K 24p video recording and allows extraction of high-resolution still images from 4K videos. It also includes a 4K time-lapse video mode.

The LCD touchscreen, which can be flipped 180 degrees, supports a selfie-exclusive mode. Users can utilize various effects such as Creative Assist, Beautiful Skin Effect, and Creative Filters. It can be easily connected to smart devices via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to transfer photos and videos effortlessly.

The EOS M200 body is available in two colors: white and black. Face covers are available in seven colors. Among the dedicated face covers, the Cotton Candy Pink color was added with the launch of the EOS M200. The price of the EOS M200 with the EF-M 15-45mm lens kit is 685,000 KRW.

To celebrate the launch of the new EOS M200, Canon is holding an event until June 7 where customers who purchase the product and complete the official registration will receive a gift. Customers can choose one gift from an official battery LP-E12, a dedicated face cover, or a Joseph & Stacey knit bag S (limited edition mint two-tone color). The event participation period is until June 15.
