[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] The Amorepacific Foundation (Chairman Hee-taek Lim) is accepting applications for its research support projects themed around ‘Beauty of Asia,’ ‘Women and Culture,’ and ‘Gaeseong Merchants’ from the 20th of this month until the 29th of next month.
This call is divided into three academic research support projects: ‘Beauty of Asia,’ ‘Women and Culture,’ and ‘Gaeseong Merchants.’ The Beauty of Asia research publication support project prioritizes themes such as the concept, body, art, and daily life of Asian beauty, as well as derivative topics including ‘Beauty and Ugliness (Chu, 醜) in Asia,’ ‘Popular Culture,’ and ‘Practitioners of Aesthetics.’
The Women and Culture support project accepts applications in research (thesis) and publication support fields, allowing applicants to freely select detailed research topics. Notably, this year, the theme of ‘Disasters and Women’ has been newly designated. The Amorepacific Foundation actively encourages research that traces and restores the lives of women in the spatiotemporal context of disasters.
For the Gaeseong Merchants research support project, academic research related to the history, figures, and living culture of Gaeseong Merchants, which form the foundation of the Korean merchant spirit, is supported. Applicants may freely select detailed research topics within the intersection related to the history of Korean enterprises.
The Amorepacific Foundation’s research support project applications are accepted online through the foundation’s website. Research (thesis) support provides 10 million KRW per paper, and publication support provides 30 million KRW per paper. Detailed application procedures and information can be found on the Amorepacific Foundation website.
