[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased to 10,564 on the 14th.


The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, the number of confirmed domestic cases increased by 27 compared to the previous day. Among them, 12 cases were imported from overseas, and 15 cases were locally transmitted.


Seven patients were identified during the quarantine process. Additional patients in the metropolitan area and Daegu-Gyeongbuk region were 11 and 8, respectively.


By region, Gyeonggi had the highest number with 8 cases, followed by Gyeongbuk (5), Daegu (3), Seoul (2), Incheon (1), and Ulsan (1).



The number of patients who were declared recovered and released from isolation increased by 87 from the previous day to 7,534. The death toll rose by 5 during the same period to 222.
